Mothers Day

Mother's Day- the only day in the year that mom is praised for all the hard work she does....
the cooking, the cleaning, the baking, the steaming, the dusting, the vacuuming, the linen washing, the laundering, the wiping of runny noses, the helping with homework projects, the reminding of chores, the balancing of bills, the gardening, the occupation of daddy....

Yep.. a woman's work is never done.

CHANGE UPDATE:

Today we found a total of $2.39 in the form of two dollar bills, two dimes, two nickels, and nine pennies. Two locations of the bounties found today are much more rewarding than the amount itself. Here's the breakdown:

$2.02: Whenever hubby and I are on the move, we grab a #3 at the local Dunkin' Donuts. This one particular location has always given us some change every time- yielding at least ten to fifteen cents in the drive-thru lane alone on average. Today while waiting for our order, our youngest shouted, "Penny!" pointing to a spot underneath a dumpster. Hubby immediately unbuckled his seatbelt and went for the penny without hesitation. As he bent over to pick up the penny, another lincoln was spotted near our tire. He picked up penny #2 and noticed a crumpled up green ball under our car. With much skill, hubby made his way under the vehicle and scooped up the ball. The ball turned out to be two george washingtons. Yayyy!

$0.20: The two dimes were found in perilous places that required much skill to secure them. Dime one was found underneath a bucket at a bath & body works store. Sure, it sounds harmless enough, right? W-R-O-N-G! There were swarms of perfume ninjas (definition: overly-aggressive sales reps that slather you with foul- smelling unguents against your wishes) cattily clawing about. As soon as hubby swooped down for the dime, one ninja appeared-basket in hand, asking if we needed assistance. I quickly distracted the ninja as hubby secured the coin.

Dime number two was sitting on the outside banister of an up escalator. I spotted it and informed hubby- who was already on his way around to retrieve it. He used a bag to move the dime forward and grabbed it in less than three seconds. I wanted to take a picture of this daring rescue but I proved too slow for Quick Draw McGraw over there.

On a higher note, my oldest daughter is now an official blogger. She has her own blog, Changepot Junior, which exists under my name on here. She's going to update her total tomorrow and is quite excited about it all. Three writers in the house! Yayy...
