The Long Lost Daddy!
We have found my husband's estranged dad FINALLY! It's only been 32 years!! He's pinpointed the exact location and is currently waiting for his father to return his call.
On the money front, I have updated the money found total. Here is the current breakdown:
Dollars: 13 - 13.00
Quarters: 28- 7.00
Dimes: 64- 6.40
Nickels: 35- 1.75
Pennies: 165- 1.65
Total: 305- 29.80
Wow.. shocking huh.

Memories of Thanksgiving.
Here is what my turkey looked like. I totally forgot that I took pics. The family loved the garnish (especially my lil chickadee). Dessert sucked but then again who's got room for more grub after turkey?
I found one UGHLEE penny today in the bathroom @ school. used paper to pick it up and deposit it into this plastic baggy with change of suspicious origins (almost Monk style, in fact).
I think that yesterday's find is going to compensate for the next few days LOL.
:BARGAIN ALERT:
For the readers that go to college-
Go to your campus bookstore and find out about software prices. I bought MS Office 2003 for over 100 dollars outside of school. Had I bought it through the website, it would have cost me $56.00. BIG DIFFERENCE.

I DARE YOU to...
1. Start picking up change you find on the floor and put it in a jug.
2. Make a budget that takes into account all the habits you have- quit them for a month and add the money into that jug.
3. Think about your future TODAY instead of tomorrow- add a dollar in the jug everytime you say something negative.
4. Be nice to your family. They are the only people you have in the long term like it or not.
5. Recycle cans and bottles at the supermarket. Put that money into the jug.
6. Sell the junk you're stashing in the basement. Take half of your proceeds and put it into the JUG.
Your jug will thank me later.
(Hell.. make your own web blog... I'll read it :)

Saucy succinctness.
My fake nails lasted exactly 5 weeks. My left thumbnail came off on Sunday while I was cleaning the sink so I decided to try the bandaid trick. No such luck. I chewed the rest of the residue off each nail in a bout of frustration. Farggit! I'm thinking i'll refrain from the nails for a few months and adding a new envelope in my budget solely for manicuring. I'm doing really good with the house budget.

I found 35 cents in the parking lot today- one quarter and one dime. Wooohoo!! Hubby finds soo many pennies in school which I forget to add to this blog lol.

November blues.
::Sigh::
I can't believe it's almost December already! Despite the 4 day vacation I managed to do a couple of things:
1. Wash the car (been putting it off for months!)
2. Shop for Christmas (you wouldnt believe how much we spent!)
3. Get sick some more (been fighting this flu for over a month- I keep getting reinfected!!)
On a lighter note, we've found 27 cents during our weekend escapades.

Chocolate: lights out
Yes. I have come up with a play about chocolate. It's a rough draft that I'm proud of :) You're wondering if I was PMSing when I wrote it?? You betcha.
It's a well known fact that chocolate contains stimulants that you feel when you're in love... this play is NOT about love LOL. I may share a piece or two once I work out the kinks.
I found two pennies in front of my house today. Thanks to whoever dropped them.
Penny Lane
I was looking at the pennies i've found during this finding change experiment and noticed some pennies look like they've gone through hell and back. I found an article on cleaning pennies with taco sauce <--click here. I'm sure you've heard about the wonders of ketchup... I happen to like this one better lol. I haven't found much change lately (seems like the upcoming holidays have prompted folks to pick up loose change).
On a lighter note, I'm off to sleep. Had a hard night trying to edit my paper for a professor this morning. I had a dream about him last night actually lol.. I dreamt we smoked weed and watched the whole series of Police Academy movies (it was soo odd). I couldn't help but giggle this morning because the dream was quite vivid... (thats the last time I eat pizza at 10pm!)

Updates....
I haven't found anything worth posting lately. A few lincolns here, a few there.. but none as great as hubby's 10 dollar find at a pathmark parking lot ;) A friend of mine found 800 dollars at a parking lot a few weeks ago. I'd have trouble keeping that much money personally. Since it was a parking lot, it would be difficult to inquire about the owner. Hopefully the person who lost the money didn't need it too much? (who am I kidding.. 800 bucks is painful regardless!)

Courses. Choices. Invocations.
I found a few familiar lincolns on the floor today... approximately 5 cents worth... wooohoo! My business venture yielded some nice profits this month... unfortunately the majority of my profit is going to pay my menacing student loan (it's ugly right now). I am currently reading a short story by Alan Gurganis entitled "Adult Art". Funny, I almost typed "One Art"- then chuckled because that's Bishop (Elizabeth, that is). How can you spot an English lit guru? When the target recites the last lines of the poem from memory : "...the art of losing's not too hard to master/thought it may look like(Write It!) disaster." Whilst on the topic of edumacation, I went in for grad advisement. I have decided on taking two courses- one in Drama and the other in Renaissance Lit (a Sting favorite). Okay. I'm tired. Goodnight... (and good luck.)

What is Photography?
I woke up in an inquisitive mood. There is much to be said about moods and what they inspire. After perusing the net a while, I ran across the pictures posted below this post and decided to include them in my online journal. Each picture means different things, in my eyes. The human body is extraordinary. What makes those men stand out aside from their status as celebrities is their uniqueness in features. The men are dark eyed, which adds to the mystery. I want to photograph PEOPLE again. I want to fall in love with PEOPLE again. Photography allows emotion to filter through the lens and onto other eyes. I want to ZERO IN on what makes people UNIQUE.

Ketchup
A thousand apologies for not having clocked in sooner... been very busy these past couple of days. I have updated the changepot to reflect the current amount. I've got my whole family participating on the found money challenge and here are the stats as of 11/12/2005: $24.99
The breakdown is complicated but accounted for nonetheless.

Damn! I missed the manicure guy!
Howdy y'all.
I'm still sick... but feeling .10 better. I missed school today (shame on me). There was no way I could drive the way I felt. Nyquil let me rest comfortably I must say... (got a swig left!) Hubby came home with a rare find... two quarters found in the parking lot at work. Thats more than what I usually find in a week... kudos.. he's da man... oh well..
Thanks for your notes and online greetings. I feel so loved.. gosh, look at that.. I'm blushing :)
This SUCKS! I missed my favorite manicurist. He only works on Saturdays and there was NOO way I was going out the way I was feeling. Damn.. now to wait a whole week.
So now I'm off to finish a paper due on Wednesday. A tout a l'heure!

The Sick, thick Chick sings the Blues...
This absolutely blows. I am sick (again). My temp is currently 102.1. You're probably wondering how I am still functional... haha!... I am only using 6 percent of my right brain. This is evident in the paper I"m writing for my Asian Lit Class. I found a dime on the floor in my bedroom which is probably mine but still a familiar flicker of frugal proportions glinted in mine eyes. Okay okay... so I added the dime to the changepot (which brings my weekend total to a whopping $0.15).
I havent been able to watch tv today because my brain gets all fuzzy and the last thing I need while in a feverish stupor is to imbibe in the floccinaucinihilipilification of cable TV. FYI, that is not the longest word in the English Dictionary. The winner is Antidisestablishmentarianism.
Ok yes.. so I am going cuckoo. maybe my fever's going down. I need a nurse. Preferably a male one. A CUTE male one... ok ok.. hubby will do ;) just kidding... I love you poopsie. He's mad at me because I'm trying to offer constructive criticism. I think I need a few lessons in patience.

WOW..
WOW. Just got back from seeing Clooney's Film Good Night and Good Luck, One word. Amazing. Hubby and I sat through the whole film in sheer awe at David Strathairn's performance. While this is certainly not a date movie, I highly recommend it for those who care to witness democracy in action. WE NEED A CONTEMPORARY EDWARD MURROW!!! Oh, and I happened to find a nickel underneath my seat at the movies. ... Good night... and Good luck.
Spotlight on LOGO
Have you seen LOGO yet?
I am extremely proud of this cable channel. Though it's geared specifically for Lesbian, Gay, and transgendered individuals, the shows and films are amazing!! Right now I'm watching Flawless with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robert DeNiro. I am especially interested in this subject because I am taking a Gay Lit course in College- taught by veteran Gay rights activist Arnie Kantrowitz.
I feel so crappy today. Despite sharing my breakfast with Kitty, this morning has been quite rough. I'm hoping a good shower and a night on the town will bring my spirits up. I found a few cents all over the place yesterday but I didn't keep track of the total. A good friend told me that Commerce Bank has a change machine that automatically counts your change at no charge.. I'm thinking I may take the changepot over there once a month and post the totals accordingly.
About my play...
for those that are interested.. my play received mix reviews on Thursday. I'm thinking I went way too intrinsic for people (Latin, Greek Tragedy. Expressionism, Realism, Necrophilia) but it's all good.. I will go on. I'm sure people will enjoy the next play... i hope.

Happy Hump Day..
Yeahhh right!
I'm sitting here getting ready for another day of obscure reading and observation. I'm tired and not in the mood to do anything except maybe sleep for an hour or two. On a financial note, I found two pennies.. one in the library and the other on the floor walking to this very building. It amazes me how people like throwing money away. I totally don't get it!
I will update later.. if i have the strength...........................

SOY CANDLEMANIA!
Oh my goodness.... I just got my hands on two amazing scented SOY candles hubby brought from a young entrepreneur. She is a master at making these candles...once I get all of her information I will post it on my blog for all to see.. these candles smell heavenly! I have fruit slices going on right now.. mmmmm.. amazing!
I am very happy because not only is she thinking of her family by opening up a small business but she's also serving her country in the Army. The patriot in me has decided to stop buying foreign candles.. from now on, it's JenScents all the way!
Want to buy some? Email me at KBUNLIM@gmail.com for details
